5 Healthy Sangrias for the Summer

Red Sangria

1 bottle of mid-range red wine

1/2 cup orange juice

2 peaches sliced (or swap for something seasonal)

1/2 cup strawberries sliced (or swap for something seasonal)

1 lemon, scrubbed and sliced

1 orange sliced

Directions:

Mix the wine with juice, add fruit.

Put in the fridge for up to a day and at least a few hours.

Fill glasses with ice and add sangria (making sure to get a piece or two of fruit in each glass)

Top off with sparkling water.

 

White Peach Sangria

Ingredients:

1 bottle white wine

2 peaches, sliced

2 kiwis, peeled and thinly sliced

1 cup raspberries

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup to taste

1 (750 mL) bottle sparkling white wine

8 sprigs mint

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together in a large pitcher and leave it in the refrigerator for few hours to blend flavors.

Enjoy with ice!

 

Blood Orange Sangria

6 blood oranges

2 bottles of Pinot Grigio

1 cup sparkling water

1/2 cup brandy (optional)

12 ounces of strawberries, sliced

1 pint of raspberries

1 apple, chopped

Directions:

Juice four of the blood oranges (or squeeze them by hand), discarding any seeds. Chop the remaining blood oranges into pieces.

In a large pitcher, combine the wine, brandy, blood orange juice, sparkling water, apples, strawberries, raspberries and blood oranges.

Stir well to combine.

Fill each glass with a few ice cubes, then add some of the fruit from the sangria.

Pour the sangria into each glass and serve!

Note: this definitely gets better as it sits, so you can make it ahead of time and store it in the fridge.

 

Pineapple Sangria

Ingredients:

1 pineapple, chopped
1 pint strawberries, chopped or left whole
2 limes, sliced
1 bottle of dry white wine, like Chardonnay
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup sparkling wine or water
1/2 cup brandy (optional)
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish

Directions:

Combine all ingredients together in a large pitcher, jar or bowl and sti.

Refrigerate for an hour or longer before serving.

Taste and if it’s too sweet for you, add a bit more water.

If you let this sit overnight, it will turn into a pretty shade of pink and delicious drink!

 

Sparkling Grapefruit Sangria

Ingredients:

1 bottle rose or white wine
1 bottle prosecco (or a dry champagne)
1 cup grapefruit juice
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries
1 grapefruit, cut into chunks/slices

Directions:

Place fruit in a large pitcher

Combine remaining ingredients and pour on top.

Refrigerate an hour or so before serving.
